Heron at Twilight
Such a hot day! - not ideal for heaving stuff around the office as we all moved to our temporary desks. I pitied the guys we'd got in for the day to do the heavy lifting.. they looked exhausted by the end of the day. By the end of the afternoon I was in my new spot - jammed up against a wall, miles from a window and with a fax machine as a near neighbour - but I did have all my work stuff sorted and it kind of works. I'm hoping that the refurb sticks to schedule!
I was quite late back this evening. It was so lovely I managed to persuade husband to go for a walk along the river. Just as it was getting dark, we spotted a heron on the edge of one of the pools in the nature reserve. It let me get quite close before it took off. The light was failing so you see more of the outline of the heron than the heron itself but it was lovely to watch.
My attempt at a blip this morning gave me a little adventure on the way to work. I'd spotted dew on a rose leaf on the drive. I managed to brush against a spider's web taking the photo, didn't think anything of it and jumped into the car. I then had to brush off the strands of the web from my right arm as I drove off. About half a mile later I felt something on the underneath of the steering wheel. Couldn't really spot what it was so drove very gingerly to work. As I parked, a very large garden spider ran up my left arm and on to my shoulder! Good job I'm not spooked by spiders....
