Lunch in the park or lunch in the dark?

For the greater part of today I was chained to the keyboard, assembling and editing a paper. And it was a beautiful day, so at lunchtime I strolled round St Andrews Square, where the gardens (one of Edinburgh's recent successes) were packed with people enjoying the weather. An "Indian Summer" according to a lengthy discussion on Radio 4 this morning, on what must have been a quiet day on the news front.

Ironically, I ate lunch in a dark basement cafe, unable to resist the smell of wonderful coffee.
