RWCMD

Nice early start this morning, up at 5ish and out by 6.15 because, as I mentioned yesterday, i've been in Cardiff again today.

Went up to go and have a tour of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (rwcmd). I've been quite excited for a while because the course looks really interesting and fun, the facilities are AMAZING and just generally couldn't wait to have a look round. And I wasn't dissapointed. I loved more or less everything about it. Every piano a perfect Steinway. It's all new and modern, but still a really nice place to be, with the older stable conversions at the back.

I went up in the car again this time, but with my dad and also my friend Tom from school. When we arrived we also met up with my music teacher's nephew. When I told her I was going, she got quite excited and said I needed to meet 'Matt' and she hasn't stopped talking about it haha. But he was very nice indeed, and it was great to have a students perspective, and a personal tour guide! I also saw another girl I knew there, which was strange. It's always funny when you see somebody you know in a very new enviroment. Different country infact!

The rest of the day was good, and it was lots of fun too. As we arrived early we also managed to have a fairly brief tour of the Cardiff University music building. I came up for the open day a few weeks ago, but unfortunately the music building wasn't open. It was so good to actually see it today, because before, I hadn't actually been that impressed. But it was rather nice :)

I took this photo of the conservatoire (Doesn't it look beautiful <3) just before we arrived. It's got a lovely big open park at the back, which is apparently one of the largest urban-open spaces in europe. It barely feels like a city centre at all. I chose this photo over another one, because although the other one has the river that flows just next to the building, only just not visible here. This one had more of the building showing, and the lovely trees. The sun was actually shining, yes in wales, and it was fairly hot too!
