Danes Dyke

I can't believe all that I have achieved today. Been well and truly packed. I know if I'll stop then I'll fall asleep! Went to Danes Dyke with year 3 today. As we got on the coach the other teacher I share a class with said she didn't know her way! So I ended up leading the trip. my husband calls me Captain Compass (in a sarcastic way) so when I tell him I had to follow a map of the trail AND didn't get lost, he won't believe me.

It was a beautiful warm day. Perfect for our walk round the forest and then onto the beach. We are doing settings so was able to compare the two setting and also cover our science topic of plants. Great stuff. A really lovely day. We walked them 5 miles. It always amazes me that the kids live 15 minutes away and most of them had never been!

After school I had to rush home to be out for 4:50pm for a surprise birthday meal out. A friend from work is 60 so we were all celebrating. Really good get together and home by 7:45! Result! I'm so getting old.
