For those in Peril.
That's me.
Not in danger of the high seas - at least not today crossing the Solent with the sun shining and the temperature in the car showing a balmy 27 degrees.
But in danger of blowing my credibility.
You see, all of my family members think that when I am away from home, working, I am actually having a 'jolly'. No matter how I try, I cannot convince them that being away from them is hard and the work made all the more gruelling because of that.
But today. Despite being up planning before 0500, travelling to my first place of work in Cwmbran for 0900 and then driving down to Lymington before crossing for work tomorrow at the prison on the Isle of Wight, it was, dare I say it, a very enjoyable experience.
I have already sent Mrs DD a text to say that I will bring her away for a visit here soon and hopefully stay in the same delightful hotel I am using, but I am not sure whether that will be enough to stop the jibes from the rest of the family.
It's a thankless job I do. But someone has to.
