Scharnegoutum
Today I did a fotoshoot in Scharnegoutum in Friesland, in the northern part of the Lowlands by the sea. While Fries is an original language in our country, many signs are given in two languages. So when you enter this lovely village you're in formed about it's name in both Fries (Skearnegoutum) and Dutch (Scharnegoutum).
Many blips could have been posted. However there's only one a day. I chose for the monument for the fallen in Worldwar II, right behind the Martenstsjerke (Fries) of St Martenskerk (Dutch), which can be best translated as Saint Martens Church.
It's a stainless steel sculpture of a styled flame and cross on a pillar of stone. I made the photo with the monument in the last glorious beams of the down going sun.
And it was if I saw a burning message with a warning: "Don't forget and take care this never happens again! ... "
