Well who'd have believed it? Despite early forecasts that the indian summer would miss ... surprise,surprise ... the West of Scotland, we've had a glorious and very warm day. An hour's strenuous weeding in the face of defeat and then I sat out in the garden reading a lovely old-fashioned novel while Scotland's Supply Teacher did his stuff ...mug! Spell it .... R-E-T-I-R-E-D!!
