Why not? 28.09.11

This morning I was again woken by the internal clock, which does seem to be moving towards the new (daylight saving) time. I deferred leaving until it was almost dawn and on my run got two rather nice dawn skies.

I had planned a run through the Auckland Domain to specifically look for some of the sculptures on display. Found two of the three I was looking for, and got some rather uninspired shots. Maybe because I was not inspired by the works. I think that Pomeroy's statue of Burns had more to actually say than these rather contrived pieces. The one I missed (went along the wrong path) may do somewhat more for me.

On Karangahape Road just past Queen Street I was stopped in my tracks by a question and design painted on the concrete flagstone. The question was simply Why? and the date (26.09.11) was written below. Thought long and hard about it, only to emerge onto the deck this evening with camera in hand and spy this sunset.

The question then became Why not? (blip this instead), and I decided there was no reasonable answer as this sky is one of the more grand sunsets we have had in all the years of sunsets I have recorded from here. There are so many shapes, angles, and colours. It even outweighed my wish to maximise the While on my run aspect of my blips.
