Boy and Barrel
Time for another stop on the occasional tour of Bradford's cinematic history.
The Boy and Barrel pub is one of the key locations in Room at the Top, one of the celbrated 'Kitchen Sink' dramas that brought a dash of realism to British cinema in the late 50s and early 60s. The film was based on the novel by Bingley novelist John Braine, so its Bradford credentials are considerable.
The locations have been painstakingly identified by the folk at Reel Streets.
You can watch the whole movie on YouTube, starting with this instalment.
Earlier stops on this Bradford film tour included the Billy Liar steps, and the Bradford Film Strip. Still plenty to come.
