Second Floor Snail

Looked out my window this morning to see what the weather was doing, and there was a big snail on the outside of the glass, right at eye level. He must be a good crawler to get all the way up to the 2nd floor. But what was he looking for up there? (I didn't have my camera handy, so had to blip him with my iPad.)
