The Last of the Sunflowers
Just couldn't resist blipping this sunflower, partly because it's the last one of the season but also because it's a real survivor. The parent plant was blown over in the recent gales, the stem cracked and it lay on the ground and yet a week or so later I noticed this small but quite perfect sunflower on an upright, short stem. It has been flowering for a week now. I guess this little sunflower symbolizes for me, how we can rise up and shine in the face of great adversity.
