My Whale's Willy

Yes, I thought that title would grab your attention. I did have a whole selection of other photo'e to blip today.

I took some lovely pictures of candy floss clouds, in a pink candy colour floating across the sky.

I took a picture of some geese flying in a V over head on the start of their migration.

And you guys ended up with the naffiest picture of the day - but this sums up my quest.

"Quest?" I hear you ask....oh yes. My quest to make Turkish delight. Yesterday I made a batch using another recipe I had downloaded off the internet (I won't go into the failres of the first recipe I tried - suffice to say I rated that one as total toilet). Today I turned out the mixture and the only way I could get it off the tray was to 'roll' it. As it flopped onto the tray and rolled over in the icing sugar / corn flour dust it turned into THIS. I spent 10 minutes laughing - hands sticky. My husband took the photo: I couldn't touch anything.

I said out loud what we both thought as I lifted the floppy, dust covered mixture in my hands. It was as a willy of some sort, and then I said out loud "A Whale's Willy" bursting into a fit of giggles.

Our 2 and half year old son repeated my words for some time.

So here you go - another batch of Turkish Delight and another recipe that will not be used again.

In a couple of weeks time I will try another recipe. I will not let this beat me. If you have a 'successful' recipe for this confectionary - please message me. It can;t be any worde than my Whale's Willy!
