Freewheeling? Foaming at the mouth?
We bought a Peugeot 3008 earlier this year. Less than five minutes after leaving the forecourt we had a blowout on the M74; Uncle Arnold sent a mechanic to fix us and only then did we discover that most new cars of most makes have a foam repair kit and not a spare wheel! Of course, our blowout was beyond the powers of foam and we had to be towed back to Uncle Arnold's where they gave us a pretty new wheel.
We love the car; it perfectly matches our life. However, we have both been anxious these past months about the implications of the foam kit/no wheel. We would call the AA anyway, but doesn't it complicate life if your tyre problem is more than a slow puncture and a roadside rescue isn't possible? What happens if Kwikfit is closed?
Today we went back to Uncle Arnold and bought an inexpensive spare tyre. Only then did we find out that once the foam has been used to escape the emergency, even if it was a simple, repairable nail hole, the tyre is no longer usable and your cost is going to be a new premium tyre! Wow! Glad we made the decision.
And while we were there I got to look at all the rows and rows of lovely Peugeots
