Salkantay Trek (Peru 6/16)

This was the first day of a 5 day hike through the Andes with a final destination of Machu Picchu. Saltkantay, the peak we were headed towards, means "Savage Mountain", and it took some toll on us.

Our first day we woke up around 4:30 AM, and after a long van ride into the mountains, we hiked for about 10 hours. A pretty exhausting first day.
