Migrant hawker

Today has been wonderful. We had a leisurely breakfast out on the patio, then I went for a wander around the heath. There were lots of dragonflies around, but it wasn't till I got back to the cottage and this beautiful hawker settled on a shrub that I managed a decent shot. A leisurely afternoon tea, another wander on the heath at twilight to place my trail cam. As we passed by one of the greens on the nearby golf course, we got an amazing view of a green woodpecker. A barbecue under the stars then Stephen Fry's superb documentary about language - a subject close to my heart - rounded off a perfect day!
