Cold steel
With the drizzle obscuring the morning sun, we had a similar effect to that of a low mist over the town today. I chose a high and distant vantage point to shoot one of the local steelworks, which have as much significance on the social history of the town as they do on it?s economy. The immense scale of the steelworks provided a great way to use the weather conditions, layering the relief of the town in the background, and creating a natural soft focus effect.
This was shot as a much wider panoramic image, but has been trimmed for presentation here. Three shots were used for the portion you see here.
All shots taken with a Nikon D300; Tamron 18-270mm @ 170mm; ISO 200; F/10; 3 seconds. VC off.
