This is the Viking Ship Museum, which struck me as rather deliberately modelled on a cathedral. I don't know if this was because we were meant to revere the archaeology, or because it contained the contents of the burial mound of a queen.

There were some amazing objects though. Some stunningly beautiful in their craftmanship, especially the tapestries and the woodcarving, others striking in their familiarity, such as the dog collar with a little bell (I always had trouble finding my dog in the dark so he had a little light on his collar - a bell would have worked as well).

Busy week ahead with a trip to Helsinki but hopefully pick up a few good blips as well.
