Pedalos but no Pedal Bikes

We had looked at the weather forecast yesterday and with a dry warmer day forecast for today we decided to go to the park after various jobs were done this morning.

So after dance exams were finished and two men with a van took away our shed and a load of garden rubbish, we put the children's bikes in the car and headed across town to Millhouses Park. It was grey (not forecasted) and had rained overnight (not forecasted) but they said it would brighten through the day.

We went straight to the great cafe for lunch and then intended to have a walk and ride around the park before the kids played on the play area. As we arrived, there were model boats on the boating lake and a few pedalos out. As we ate our lunch, the sky got darker and rain started blowing diagonally across the park. Even staying for a pudding wasn't long enough to wait for the rain to clear and we headed back home for an afternoon with Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. Looking out now, the promised blue sky has finally arrived!
