Just another brick...
Hmm so what to say. How has this shot of an old wall come about. Well there is a funny story. After i featured my Dad and Mo yesterday i got to looking back through the pics i took in my old home town of Wragby. One of the shots i took was indeed of this very wall.
I've wanted to take it for a while because it holds a lot of good memories for me. In fact it holds so many i was well peeved with myself for not using it as yesterdays blip. So i figured i'd pop back and get a shot of it this morning. Now when i say pop...i mean do the near 70 mile round trip...for 1 photo. Yep thats what i did. Why go to all that for a wall?
This wall is located in Wragby park. Right outside the primary school. So for a start i saw it every weekday for 5 years. On many occation i played SPOT against it after school with friends. Then there was the time when i was 13 that Me, Harry Wybrow and Micky Schwec (both real people) tried making fireworks out of some of Harry's dad 12 bore cartridges and Micky burnt his eyebrows off. Not to mention the many drunk teenage night spent smoking and being sick tooling around near it. I know who Karl is who sprayed the grafitti, which has been there since at least 1987. I also know who sprayed the letters VOC and KAOS on the other side of the wall in around 1996.
So you see this isn't just a wall. It is an icon of my childhood. If you are ever (although it's doubtfull) in Wragby make a trip to the park and i promise you, you will almost feel my history leaking from just another brick in the wall
So it has to be this
