Spring Southerly snow
Beautiful crisp spring morning - great big clouds, rain early, but it cleared and the sun broke through. I'd wanted to take photos of Mt Herbert and the surrounding hills with the snow on earlier, but always either had to work or the roads were closed so was determined to get up there today.
It was still and lovely - lots of bird song and I saw what I'm pretty sure was a NZ falcon, doing aerial maneuvers and calling loudly, which was exciting!
This view is from the summit road - turned left from the Sign of the Kiwi and went around to where one of the tracks leaves the road. Of course most of the tracks are closed due to the rock fall danger - I wonder if they will ever re-open.
Mt Herbert and Lyttelton Harbour.
