Trend developing?
Had an interesting day today. It was Doors Open Day in Edinburgh so took the kids round some of the buildings we have not been to before. Went to Kings Building which is part of Edinburgh University, we were in the Natural History department, the staff were great they were all dressed up in costumes and they had loads of interesting things laid out for the kids to really get stuck into, there was a hive of bees, bones of all kinds, crabs and insects and microscopes, we spent ages there. Upstairs they had a gallery of more skeletons and stuffed animals, could not resist this tortoise skeleton, I seem to be getting a lot ex-animals these days!
After that we went to the geology department and again the staff were on hand to let the kids have a go at practical experiements to see how things work (they especially liked the one that involved the marshamallows!)
The Royal Observatory was very popular and we were nearly trapped in the car park such was the traffic up and down the hill, L even built a rocket and fired it to the moon.
Had to have a trip to the botanics to keep L sweet as there are some sculptures there he wanted to see, hopefully get a chance to blip some of them another time as they are there until June next year.
All these things and I still manage to blip a dead animal:)
