Capital adventures

650 miles later - just north of Biggar

A back room at the B&B last night so no sea view but a hard, hard mattress meant I was up early and getting #3 son out of bed before 9 to say good-bye. Needless to say he didn't thank me for it.

The drive home was less fraught that going south. In the daylight N Wales is very beautiful, reminded me of Aberdeenshire, except they speak Welsh. Maybe one day I'll go back for a holiday. The weather was good apart from some rain at Tebay northbound, which the ducks on the pond seemed to be enjoying.

It was a lovely autumn evening as I drove up through the Borders and the sunlight on the hills around Biggar was beautiful.

Managed to take the unwanted knife set back to IKEA and buy potting compost, cable ties and most importantly the M&S Chinese take away before the van's let was up (felt a bit like Cinderella, wondered if it would turn into a pumpkin at 7.01?)

Now home - just me and Molly. I really do live alone now and that feels odd after so long living with another person/people but I'm too tired to think about it. I'll just about manage to unscrew the top off the Viognier.
