Freaky Friday
Had a bit of a scare today on my bike ride to the gym. A tiny old woman decided she would love nothing more than to run me over in the middle of an intersection. Thanks to the reflexes and agility that are still bountiful in my youth, I was able to dodge her.
After I delivered a sufficiently menacing glare, I solemnly biked away and started crying.
What if she had hit me?? What if she broke me and I couldn't go to spin class? Would Howard the spin man notice my absence? Would he think I had just written spin class of as too hard...when really I'm pinned beneath an Oldsmobile??
The most sobering part of this ordeal was the decision to wear my helmet. I had considered not wearing it (I'd have to take my hair down! The gym is only 2 miles away! I'll have to lug it around and stuff it in a locker somewhere!) but ultimately my love for my pink helmet prevailed. And after this little incident you can bet I'll be wearing my helmet not only when I bike, but also when I drive, sleep, eat, or walk somewhere purposefully.
