orchid in church
This orchid caught my eye because it catches the light in a very remarkable way. It seems to be generating its own energy although it is in fact just reflecting intense sunlight pouring in through one of the church windows.
The church in question is the Hedvig Eleonara here in Stockholm. It is a Lutheran church named after a Swedish queen form the early 1700s. Though typically plain, it is a magnificent space created by an octagonal dome, purist lines and non-coloured windows.
The grand piano on the left gives an indication of scale.
