Esgairmwyn Mine

Finally made it out to this place which I've been wanting to visit for a long tim. I'm interested in the old lead mines of Mid-Wales for their industrial archaeology, the metallophyte lichens, and also because they are often such atmospheric places - usually out in remote places, but once bustling with activity, and now long since gone quiet. Esgairmwyn is of particualr interst to me because I have been translating from Welsh a fascinating memoir written by someone who worked here in the early 20th C.
