Still Alive

I'm a reindeer!

Waking up with a rising sun. Beautiful. Had to wake up the girls few minutes before the time to let them know about the beautiful scene.

Normal breakfast routines - me making coffee for everyone. For now I even got photographed (at least with my own camera).

Somewhat exiting day to start - getting really close to the end line. Spending the night just 800 meters away from the swimming hall. Maybe even seeing the other groups and hearing how their trip was.

Before that, though, we needed to hike some 10 km.

We started with a gentle hike down the stream from Laskojávri. Then upstream of Badjeseavttet. We couldn't cross the river in the first place I visited - I then asked the group to hike a bit uphill of the river (on better ground) while I was looking for a perfect crossing.

And I found one - asked the group whether they'd like to get their feet wet. They did. Little did they know that we could cross the river without any boots. Bare feet.

"Bare feet, are you not having any shoes?"
"Definitely not", I replied

The best crossing of the whole journey. And the group did enjoy it too. At least thinking about the chatter later on.

On our next break at a saddle we saw the 'competing' groups. Ilpo taking lead and Janne being close second. When they went behind the hill, we gathered our gear and started our journey toward our lunch at the lake Loa??ejávri.

The girls went for a lunch swim, I enjoyed the weather just lying down.

After lunch the other groups saw us too - they walked the marked track. We didn't. Until near the crevasse.

Did go down. And run up. A kind-of-competition. Hoping not to get beaten up for this ;)

Spending the night around the lapp hut. Had pancakes on bonfire. Chit-chat with the other group.

Going bed rather late - the last of the group left the bonfire around 11pm. I stayed there with a dear friend of mine 'til 1am. Getting bed at 2am.

Waking up at 5am, feeling safe. And trying my best to keep it that way.

'The less sleep, the more sleep'

Thanks.
