What Lies Beneath

...the petrol station

They're digging up the petrol station. I don't know what I imagined they have under the forecourt, but there it is.

I worked for Trading Standards for a bit and part of my induction was going out with the people who test the petrol pumps' accuracy. As far as I recall, this involved measuring a certain amount of petrol into a bucket on the fast setting and the slow setting and making sure the line on the bucket matched what it said on the counter. That was about it. Then they poured the petrol back into the tank.
