Red Admirals

As the light fades, I am enjoying a pint of Broadside and listening to the last bird song of the evening. We did a superb walk today which included a 2 mile stretch of the Suffolk Coastal path from Snape to Aldeburgh, which is known as the Sailors' Path. The weather has been glorious - perfect for walking. We saw a pair of kestrels almost immediately, and soon after, a southern hawker posed for me on the hedgerow. My blip had to be these red admirals; I've never seen so many as were about today feasting on the ivy flowers in the hedgerows.
Other visual delights included some glorious lavender coloured flowers (not lavender though) being grown as a crop, beautiful fly agarics and parasols, and my first sighting for a long time of 3 death caps.
An owl has just stared hooting on the heath close by, but tonight there is no sound from the stag, and as we heard gunfire last night, we wonder whether he has fallen victim to the cull.
Again apologies for my lack of comments; loading every page here is a painfully slow process, so I will have to try and catch up with everyone when we get home.
