shhh... it's a secret

well, sort of. this wee garden is just off the canongate in edinburgh, but so few people know about it that i always think of it as the secret garden. i discovered it a couple of summers ago, with a friend who was also working freelance shifts, and we'd often sit there in the sunshine with coffee and sandwiches to escape the office and the city for a while, sitting in our little green oasis. he's working full-time back shifts now, so no more lunchtime picnics :-( but i still go there now and again when the weather's good and i need to pretend i'm in the countryside.

the haar has gone, but the grey cloud remains at the moment (and it's not so warm, either). i want the summer back!
