All in a days work....
So this is what I do... but occasionally... I let them do it. These girls are Judith (on the left) and Linda (on the right), and my field-slav... I mean.. assistants. Well actually, they are two students who I supervise and who help me out this field season. For them it's a two month course, with one month of field work, and one month to write a report and make a presentation, and of course, get graded.
The big idea for them is to get acquainted with the ins and outs of working outside and primairily doing research, in their case on European Starlings and Mites. That means enjoying the good things (cute baby birds, fresh air, sun) and the bad things (being shit at by baby birds, not having weekends *cough*, making long(er) days than average students, and having a serious decline in social life due to work activities).
So, that's it in a nut shell.
