gratuitous spring flower

Today was one of those increasingly rare days when I took quite a few photos... it was hard to choose, but the spring flower shot would have to be compulsory at this time of year (on this side of the world of course) and I haven't done one yet, so here it is

I also passed by a few places close to town that I hadn't seen since they were damaged in one or many of our earthquakes - St Lukes being demolished, a house partly demolished and then left, blank spaces where favourite places used to be...

The flower was somewhat more uplifting than those other pics!
