Empty Space Leaves Hole in Hearts
Picture: The empty space that caused panic today.
Panic struck an inner-city office today when workers arrived and saw that a popular local icon had disappeared overnight. All that remained was a gap between cars, a space that stayed empty for the rest of the day.
The Green Car, as it is affectionately known among followers, has been a stable element in the ever fluid carpark since June 2011, seen every day except Fridays by workers overlooking this carpark.
One distressed worker told us "We look out for it every day, sometimes it's in a different place, but it's always there. Except today." Another described the chaos following the discovery, "It was like some disaster movie, there was crying, screaming and running around. Is this the end of the world?"
"Where is The Green Car?" one such worker asked. "Is the driver ill? Does anyone realise?" another queried. Rumours abounded, but the anonymous nature of the carpark means that in reality the truth will never be known.
Excitement rose when a green car was sighted in Liverpool St, but quickly dismissed as a copy-cat after the occupants were identified as unlikely inner-city workers.
