Shoot-Out

First set the scene......

Picture it.

A Northern Line carriage with a variety of happy Tuesday evening revellers.

Among them, a Blipper sitting quietly alone, listening to Desert Island Discs podcasts (I know, I'm so cool), reviewing the evening's theatre photos on her viewfinder.

Out of the corner of her eye, she notices some familiar behaviour.

A man, casually dressed so as not to draw attention to himself, nonchalantly holding a camera, and hovering near reflective surfaces. Shooting from the hip.

She looks around. Has anyone else noticed? It would seem not. He obviously adheres to the same code as her.

And then, he sits down right opposite.

Same tactics. Pretending to be reviewing old photos but really setting up the shot. Clicking the button when no one is looking.

Same weapon, too; a 50mm lens, no one takes it seriously (unless you're in the know).....

It just had to be done.

She just had to shoot before he got in first.

It was touch and go for a while.

Each had poker faces, playing with each other, trigger fingers hovering.

At last someone made the definitive move.

She shot, she captured, she left, and lives to tell the tale, to you, fellow blippers.

I'm sure you'll agree she did you proud.

(Unless the stealth Tube photographer also a blipper; I'm looking out for a photo of my back.......)
