day by the river. A quiet walk before seeing the new film of "Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy" with history students, some of whom are working on the cold war. A few years ago L. and I were invited to join a history trip to Berlin. We realised when we got there that we were exhibits. "Once upon a time there was a wall, and Mr and Mrs L. are old enough to have seen it .... " And to have revelled in running through the Brandenburg Gate for the Berlin Half Marathon. The world does get better.
