Northumberland Sunset
Monday was a day spent preparing for today - thus no blip. I had two presentations to prepare for our Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.
What followed today was a 5 am alarm, a drive to Doncaster, a (delayed) train to Edinburgh, a walk through Princess Gardens, presentation, lunch and train to Glasgow, presentation, train back to Edinburgh (missing my connection by one minute), a pint of Deuchars IPA and a bite to eat, train to Doncaster and a drive home. I arrived home about 17 hours after I left, but things had gone well and the presentations were a success.
What brightened my day further was how glorious our country looks as we headed along the East Coast Mainline and how Edinburgh's buildings never fail to look spectacular. Coming back we saw rainbows over the sea, huge flocks of birds swooping in unison in the sky (like giant insect swarms from so far away) and an amazingly vivid golden sunset as we crossed the border at Berwick upon Tweed. A long day, but a good one.
