Cladonia
Something a bit different today. I know even less about lichens than I do about fungi but I think these are called 'cladonia' and I believe they are the cladonia 'fimbrata'. They are very small and grow on the soil among the heather. The 'pixie-cup' is the fruiting body while the 'leaves' go by the wonderful name of squamules. I only noticed them because I was lying down photographing some Rufous Milkcaps. When I got home I decided the lichens were a bit more interesting for today's blip.
PS The spaniel seems to be fully recovered.
