Hitchikers

Found this in their actual native habitat...as opposed to their usual location on my pants.
I used to hate those stupid things. You try to be all careful wandering through the woods, watching where you step, because you KNOW that hitchikers just find you....like a sneak attack. You don't even see them anywhere! Until you get back inside and have to pick the buggers off one by one by one. They. Are. Good.

I found a SNAKE SKIN today! It was probably 4 or 5 ft long...except I decided to pick it up with a stick, so, it broke...but...it is still a snake skin.
I also saw three snakes on my way to seeing the snake skin. I suppose they could be water moccasins? I don't know much about the water snakes, and these seem to like to be near water...water moccasins are the only one's I've heard of. I think. All I know is whenever I see them I wish I was walking in steel lined wellies...so as to prevent a snake induced mishap.

Gave the skin to my neighbors. They have little guys, and I figured they'd probably appreciate that sort of thing more than I do. I find these things interesting, but lets face it, I don't even want to touch it, so what exactly would my plan be if I kept it? Show and tell is tomorrow, so they were pretty excited about that.

This day is declared a SUCCESS ;)
