Saw a beautiful boy today........

I took Mum to Vindolanda today. We wanted to see the refurbished museum and the Vindolanda tablets. It is certainly worth a visit. Although the tablets are tiny and are in a very dim room, you can only marvel at the fact they have been preserved since Roman times.

We particularly liked the display of Roman shoes and jewllery.

Sadly the soup in the cafe was very peculiar and we didn't finish it.

I spotted this sculpture in the courtyard near the museum. He is not Roman of course, but I liked his fine features.

(The sculpture has been selected and then the background of shrubs has been obliterated with black to give the sculpture maximum impact.)

Just finishing off a pile of fancy scarves. I hope a few people might want to buy them for Christmas presents.
