Champion
It's that time of year again for the sheep sales and today found me with a day off work and at Thainstone Mart helping my uncle with his flock. Altogether he had 40 Charollais - 20 shearlings and 20 ram lambs. My Aunt, cousin's wife and myself got stuck in helping show the sheep for judging. With the shearlings he got 1st, 2nd, 3rd, none of them being the one I was holding. With the ram lambs I couldn't believe my luck when the one I had, 539, got first place. Not only that he went on to get Champion best in breed and top price of 500 guineas. Not as much as last years prices but I'm really chuffed to be home with the rosette. BTW this is 539, making faces at me, I think we bonded... and no it wasn't me who bought him. (Keeping it in the family another uncle got reserve champion with his ram lamb).
