What are you doing?

We both came up to work on our computers - Jess & Molly were left downstairs. After about 20 minutes, Molly started the scratching and whining just like at 2am a couple of days ago.

I gave in eventually and went down to open the gate. Molly shot upstairs as usual. She probably looked into the office before I followed her up, but by the time I did catch up with her, she was settling down at the head of the stairs.

It was left to Jess to join us at her own leisurely pace. Once here, she was curious to know if she could be of assistance. Once convinced that things here were in hand, she settled down to guard the office-door.
