Silhouetted against the morning sun

Rising, rising,
Signalling the time to get up,
Rising, rising,
Pouring light into dark spaces.

Floating, floating
Watching over the Earth,
Floating, floating,
Warming us with its light.

Falling, falling,
a hard day is done,
Falling, falling,
Stars appear, shimmering in the distance.

I have no idea if the little poem is any good. I've never written poetry but...this kept nagging at my brain.

What a beautiful morning it was this morning!
