Hope for Emergencies

Christmas in September!

Today I got THREE packages in the mail! Very exciting stuff. The first was a box full o' nail polish, which was my reward for finishing the Sketch Challenge last Tuesday. It's very fortuitous timing, in fact, because today, at long last, I finally got to hear the show that started it all - John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme! In the event that you are confused as to what that could possibly have to do with my life (and this haul of massively pricey nail polish), you can go read about it on my overly verbose blog.

ANYWAY! I finished my writing one month behind schedule, but the important thing is I finished it. In October, I'll start the process of whittling it down to a series of half-hour shows as if it, too, were going to be on Radio 4. Although it absolutely definitely will not be on Radio 4. Phooey.

The other two packages were the calendar and planner in the picture. I realize it's awfully late in the year to be buying these items, but 1) that means the price is drastically reduced and 2) I'm desperate. Ever since I got an iPhone, I have been completely unable to manage my schedule. I think it's because I assume I've entered things into iCal. But in reality, I hardly ever remember to enter things into iCal, and consequently I miss appointments/dinners/meetings/due dates for utility bills left and right. I used to be alright when I used actual paper calendars, so I'm going to try that again and see if I can get back on track.

Still incredibly sniffly and sore-throated from the change of seasons, so I'm off to pour some more salt water up my nose, drink some more tea, and get some more rest. I've been invited to a raucous dinner tomorrow night, and I don't want to miss it because of my stupid gunky nose!

Happy Monday everyone!
