These boots...
We went to Durham today. One of the objectives was to visit the wonderful cathedral, about which I wrote essays as a student - its rib vaulting, etc. I was of course armed with cameras (plural), spare batteries, memory cards, etc. "No photography in the cathedral". I challenged that and the explanation was that it was a "working church". A working church unlike the scores of other churches and cathedrals I have photographed across Europe? Nonsense. Then they weren't very keen for me to carry my camera bag to the top of the tower, but I ignored that.
Having been denied the opportunity to photograph an amazing interior, I looked for something else to catch my eye, and this is it.
