Djerba: Thursday
We woke up early and got breakfast out of the way and made our way down to the beach to board the catamaran. We set off around 10am and the sun was already roasting. We sailed for some time before stopping off for a swim in the sea. Unfortunately, we didnt see any dolphins throughout the whole boat trip. Jokingly, we made accusations amongst ourselves that the dolphins featured in the photos used by the sales guy were inflatables! Nevertheless, it was still a lovely morning out on the water.
The rest of the afternoon was spent lounging by the pool.
At 6pm, we made our way down to the beach with the hotel photographer to capture some sunset images. He was a friendly man but had this habit of popping up anywhere and everywhere with his camera. Even to the point that when we were quad biking earlier in the week, he came riding up alongside us on a moped and started snapping away! We took lots of photos and watched the sun set over the sea. Beautiful!
That evening, we decided to get henna tattoos of eachothers names done in Arabic writing. I had doubts about the henna artists sanity. Dont get me wrong! He was a friendly man but just interestingly... erm... different! I later found out that what I believed to say Poppy on my arm translated into 'oovay'. We went to see our strange henna friend once again so he could ammend his work. I further discovered that my tattoo now translated into... wait for it, ... Booby! I was assured that in Arabic, the translation for Poppy is the same as Booby... I still have my doubts!
