Mostly quite mundane

Standing guard

He's guarding the pennies, this gargoyle on the Allied Irish Bank building in Leeds. There's something quite deeply symbolic about this 'old school' banking symbol. His paw on a penny. He represents another time. A time when the banks really looked after money. Before they traded opaque packages of debt, payed themselves obscene bonuses for it and thereby dropped every one of us into the financial mire.

Something I've noticed, since I started daily blipping. I now regularly spot things that have been around me almost daily for years, without ever being aware of their existence. I only saw noticed these dudes last week. I have worked over the road from them for 14 years.
