Sailors Grave
To be a crewmember on a flag of convenience bulkcarrier was, up till the end of last century probably the most dangerous profession there was. Forget about the drama series of deadliest catch, being a crewmember on an 10 year old bulkcarrier in the middel of a storm on the North Atlantic was ten times as dangerous. A lot has been changed although not before at least one thousand sailors died on these vessels.
If you want to know more about these vessels and their history, you'll have to read THIS!
I hope that this 80.000 tons bulker, the Rubin Oak, doesn't belong to that risky sort of vessels, although her keel was laid in 1997.
