We were Heron a Great Day!

Altho we drove up in rain to Deception Pass near Anacortes Wa. the weather turned lovely as we pulled into the boat landing where the jet boat in the State Park left from. It was meant to be:) We were with good buddies with whom we'd shared many a misadventure in miserable conditions all too many times before. There was the 12 person tent we tried to pitch over along the bumping river in eastern wa.---in a torrential downpour . That time we ended up in sleeping bags on their home floor in Renton eating a fondue! Another mishap was trying to hold onto a covered picnic spot for Martin's first birthday---a rain storm and a gathering of Hell's Angel cyclists sparring with us for the shelter---so today when the blue sky and sun shone down on us in this one spot we were delighted and ready to go!

Before the boat left I spotted this lovely Heron on the hunt for fish. The ride itself was just wonderful...spotted a dolphin fin coming up and down and another Heron and many cormorants and gulls. Lots of beautiful views and a well narrated ride. Afterwards we stopped at a couple produce stands and then ended up home with four more warm bowls of delicious broccoli soup. Randy showed our friends how to make it! A very nice day with very good friends:)! The only down side is thinking of work tomorrow ha ah. Even the hooligans had a good day with an early outing and two raw bones to chew on while we were gone. I hope you all had good weekends!
