HRH Princess Amelia
"Vot is ein "photograph"? I am unfamiliar viz zis. Vill it hurt?"
Princess Amelia, a daughter of George II, bought Gunnersbury Park in 1761 for £9000, & lived there until her death in 1786.
As part of London Open House weekend her bath-house was open to the public, & this young woman played the part of the Princess brilliantly. She never slipped out of character & talked to visitors with a haughty disdain, while extolling the virtues of cold water bathing & explaining her beauty regime. Including using a gin & strawberry infusion for making the complexion pale & clear. Sadly it seems it should be applied to the skin, rather than drunk, so I can't see it making much of a comeback.
