Stroopwafel

My husband returned from the UK last night, laden with presents for his lovely young wife (ahem!). Among them was some stroopwafel, which I enjoyed today with a cup of tea. I decided to do some research on stroopwafel (i.e. wiki) and found out they date back to 1784 and come from Gouda in the Netherlands... which is also home to one of my favourite cheeses. I must visit the place one day. I also got a lovely photography book - which was a very sweet gesture as complaints have been levied about the amount of time I spend on blip! Although he may have shot himself in the foot with this one, as after reading 2 pages I decided I absolutely must have Photoshop and a new camera with a Carl Zeiss lens!
