This is an Australian stingless bee Trigona carbonaria (sounds like an Italian Pasta) and this is the first year I have noticed them. It is about 4 mm (1/4 inch) in length. They seem to hover a bit near the flower, drop the landing gear and then move in and are not quite as erratic as the honey bees. I took this with the macro and manual focus. Happy to get the wings but check out the shutter speed!
